Dr. Wood is Professor of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington. Climate engineering of solar radiation has been proposed as an approach to combat increasing global temperatures caused by increasing greenhouse gases. Although climate engineering proposals are controversial, and few scientists currently favor immediate deployment of climate engineering measures, there is increased interest in both scientific and policy circles in conducting research to understand the feasibility of climate engineering approaches should they ever be needed. Dr. Wood will focus primarily on scientific challenges involved in two particular forms of solar radiation climate engineering. Information: Michael Cox (206-553-1597).
